Welcome to Nupur Nritya Kala Kendra

Nupur Nritya Kala Kendra is not a new name among the various dance lovers of the Kumaon region. It was established in the year of 1999 by Mrs Meenu Agrawal Bisht (Director and Choreographer). It runs degree, diploma and certificate courses of music, dance and art. All degree courses are affiliated to Prayag Sangit Samiti, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

The students here are not only mere enrollees but have also developed a personal ‘Guru Shishya’ tradition with the teachers over the years, learning the nuances of dance forms, performance techniques and cultural awareness. Through the institute she helps them in building artistic sensitivity, appreciation and understanding the root of cultural traditions. Our students also acquire physical and mental discipline, strength of character and personality that comprehend them throughout in their careers.

Nupur conducts “Vedak”– a two-day cultural meet every year under Shri Ved Prakash Gupta Memorial Annual Scholarship Scheme. Nupur society provides annual scholarship in the fields of Kathak, Classical Vocal, Fine Arts, Classical Instruments (Tabla, Violin & Sitar) and Drama.

Nupur conducts “Prarmabh” workshops invites renowned professionals to take workshops and seminars of kathak, folk and western dance forms for their performing art developments.

Nupur has its own Indian folk group named “Parampara Sanskritik Group”.

Nupur has its own women club named “Vasudha” dedicated to all the house wives who are interested in music, dance and arts, Aerobics, new recipes and want to volunteer our Nupur’s cultural events or activities.

Nupur has introduce Nupur creations as recent layed foundation to engross traditional handcrafts. we deals in rangwali, canvas and jute Articles.

Nupur also choreographs for the various dance events of schools and institutes.

Nupur students have been associated as a Dance faculty to many reputed schools and many students have been taking training of Hindustani Classical Music from renowned Gurus and Institutes of India.
