ABOUT SHRI VED PRAKASH GUPTA

Shri Ved Prakash Gupta was an Ex-chairman of KMVN and a well-known personality in Politics, Social Works & Business and all of above was a great human being. He was associated with RSS since his childhood days and with the Nav Yuvak Samajik Sangathan in the decade of 1970-80, under the banner of the Sangathan he started an agitation against ‘TINCHI’, a fatal drug having alcohol as a major component, that made the youth addicted and was used to be taken by the youth. He had been the state treasurer of BJP for many years and was the conservator of the Haldwani Vaishya Maha-Sabha too.

When a person works following the moral principles of life, definitely his life becomes a blessing for others too. Ved Ji was a vital person…..brimful of good turn….. established school (BLM Academy) to give personal contribution to the society to brighten the future of the nation, started a newspaper (Uttaranchal Deep) to counter the corruption in the present system….

Ved Ji started his career as a salesman in ‘Bata’ company but later, due to his strong determination and dedication, he acquired the financial prosperity. Ved Ji would always say that money can be earned for self but, the main subject is the direction of spending it. Whatsoever we earn, we should spend at least a part of it for the welfare of the poor without wishing any propaganda.

Ved Ji was above of the particular party spirits. He always believed that the agenda of politics should always be towards humanity. He was so popular amongst the other party members because of his fearlessness of presenting the right logic.

“VEDAK”, a two - day Cultural Meet
(SHRI VED PRAKASH GUPTA MEMORIAL ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP & AWARD SCHEME)

Introduction:

NUPUR CULTURE WELFARE SOCIETY conducts ‘VEDAK’, the annual SHRI VED PRAKASH GUPTA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP & AWARD SCHEME (since – 2015) in remembrance of Late Shri Ved Prakash Gupta (beloved father, director of Nupur, Mrs Meenu Agrawal Bisht). The two day cultural event ‘VEDAK’ is a mélange of Art, Music & Dance ranging from folk, classical, fine art, drama, vocal and musical instruments (Tabla, Violin & Sitar). The first day of Vedak has folk music and dance competition including Folk Performances of artists from states of India. The next day of Vedak includes Scholarship competitions and events.

Vedak Scholarship (Hindustani Classical Music, Art & Drama)

Vedak is an annual event organized by Nupur Culture Welfare Society in remembrance of its founder Late Shri Ved Prakash Gupta.

The two day cultural meet Vedak is a mélange of music & dance including Vedak scholarship competitions in the field of kathak, classical vocal & instruments (tabla, violin & sitar) and Vedak award competitions in group folk music and dance.

Interested participants of age groups (09 – 14 Yrs) junior and (15 – 20 Yrs) senior categories on 1st May, 2019, having minimum 02 years of learning experience and taking training under recognized school/guru/institute in the following art fields are eligible to apply.

  1. Kathak
  2. Classical Vocal
  3. Instruments (table, violin & sitar)  

 03 (three rounds) Auditions will be conducted to shortlist the finalist of the Vedak Scholarship Competition within the last week, named as Vedak Audition Week.

Please Note: Fine arts scholarship categories are removed from this competition. For Fine art fill separate registration form.

Two winners from each category (1 senior & 1 junior) to be awarded Shri Ved Prakash Gupta memorial annual scholarship.

Object:

Object of the Scholarship is to facilitate and promote the outstanding talented students of Uttarakhand belonging to the cultural activities.

Progress Report:

The institution/guru/teacher under which the scholarship holder is placed will be required to send detailed half yearly progress reports in respect of the scholars to the NUPUR CULTURE WELFARE SOCIETY in the prescribed form.

Conditions

The candidate must apply in one field of interest only, as all the applications of those, who apply in more than one field, would be rejected straight away.

The applications of only one (01) student of a Guru/Institution/School will be considered for award of scholarship at a time keeping in view the large number of applications received and limited number of scholarships available in each field.

The applicants must have 2 years of experience in their applied field of interest. Proper documentation is necessary for proof.

In case, where a change of the guru/teacher becomes necessary after the commencement of scholarship, due to unavoidable circumstances, prior approval of the NUPUR CULTURE WELFARE SOCIETY for a new guru/teacher in the prescribed Joining Report Performa and justifying the reason for change must be taken.

In case the scholarship holder discontinues the training before the expiry of the period of scholarship without prior permission from NUPUR CULTURE WELFARE SOCIETY and proper justification for discontinuation, the Society shall have the right to cancel the scholarship and get the refund of the total amount spent on the scholarship holder till that date.
